I adopted a very nice dog from KHS and he deserves a good home, with people who can afford his care. But the staff failed to tell me he has fairly severe allergies and that he had accidents on a somewhat irregular bases, even though house trained. Had I known he had allergies, I would not have adopted him because I really can't deal with a dog with health issues at this stage of my life. I've been through that and can't deal with it again. I have had many rescued pets and have been a long time supporter of The Kansas Humane Society, though I never had adopted a new family member from them. A few years ago, I adopted a six-month-old male gerbil I named Fitzgerald, and he was the coolest little guy ever. He was very playful and active, he loved to burrow tunnels through his bedding and he loved running on his wheel and in his run-around ball. We lost our kitty Rollie back in September, and decided that it was time to add another kitty to our family. Peach (now called Peaches) is SUCH a great kitty and a wonderful addition to our home.
