Great Sushi – Good selection. Reasonably priced. Good service, usually. Sushi chefs are friendly and fun to watch.
Best Sushimi – Kaneyama has the freshest sushi around. The salmon and yellow tailed tuna sushimi is wonderful!! I get it everytime. Also, try the spicy tuna roll...excellent!!!Sit at the bar, and receive a real sushi experience.
sushi? kidding! – Grew up in Japan. Had very disappointed many sushi restaurant in US. Freshness of "neta" anything sitting on the rice those include fish, shelfish, cooked materials etc are not only for quality of sushi. Need a good balance of rice and "neta". Many sushi in US use too small amount of rice. About 50% of sushi restaurant in US ignore the taste of rice. I only have eaten at Kaneyama once. We went beacuse it is rated No1 in ZAGAT. Awesome! – This is the best place for Sushi, not just in Houston, but anywhere! The fish is fresh and generous. The place is extremely clean. There are many choices for the rolls and they are great!
If it's sushi you want... – Sushi was fresh, and chefs did not scrimp on portions. Punctual, professional service. Lacks the atmosphere of other sushi restaurants, but every guest of mine becomes a repeat customer!
9 – Forget about all of the negative reviews. I have eaten at almost every Japanese rest. in the city, and the best is Kaneyama. The sushi is the freshest, the presentation excellent, and they always have something unusual (fresh sea snails and miniature crabs). Eat at the bar for the best service. If you can't make it here, Nara, Mykado and Ginza are the other places to eat.
