Hidden gem in Oakland. Ken really knows how to layer hair. He doesn’t overdo it and leave you looking shaggy, nor does he underdo it and leave you with blunt ends. Everything is perfectly balanced. My only minor complaint is that he blow-dried my hair pin straight to see the layers better instead of cutting it wet. I understand why he did it, but it does add some unnecessary heat damage to the hair.

Nick serving Fades like nobody’s business. Boy can run circles on the typical high end salons. Feeling fresh and fly thanks to Nick. Easy to schedule and location is accessible driving or public transport.

I visited on a friend's recommendation for a haircut with Nick. I have straight black hair with a slight asymmetric bulge on the left side, so I usually avoid shorter styles since improper cuts make it stick out like an afro. I shared my vision for a short French crop, and Nick offered smart recommendations on how to approach the cut. The result was perfect: his layering beautifully camouflages my receding temples. Can't recommend this salon enough! Nick took his time and gave spot-on advice.

I always come here to get my hair cut by Nick. Friendly conversation and service, and his hair cutting ability is reliably amazing.
