Restaurant decor was modern and beautiful. Yes the vibe is young and trendy but also exciting to be having a meal at one of one of the finest restaurants in SD. The waitstaff all very attentive and spectacular, as you would expect. The food is imaginative, creative and delicious! We had the prime rib (Tomahawk) for two and continue to wonder if they massaged the cows to get the meat so tender. Wow so good! Chocolate Yodel and French Press coffee for dessert were equally amazing.
A truly wonderful experience presented by a professional, knowledgeable staff. Food was an amazing journey through a delightful array of the most exquisive aromas, flavors and tastes. A true pleasurable adventure. Richard has always been my favorite Top Chef. Juniper and Ivy is a complete expression of his talent. Thank you.

Great menu format. You could enjoy a full meal just by ordering bites all night long. We mixed it up with bites and small plates followed up by two exceptional desserts. The servers were professional yet relaxed. Great selection of wines by the glass and the cocktails were equally inventive as the food. Crossed this one off my bucket list and immediately put it back on for our next trip to San Diego!
It is a definite experience dining at Juniper & Ivy. We spent a significant amount of time with our waiter as he explained the purpose and background of the restaurant and as he walked through every item on the menu. Having said that, our waiter was fantastic and very nice. In view of the hype, I was terribly disappointed with the food. I didn’t enjoy the “bites” or the oysters. Diverse menu. Staff great! They were very accommodating when I didn't want a full order of oysters, they split it for me. Definitely would go there again.
