My daughter and I had an early Valentine's dinner here last night. She had the trout. I had the beef. My beef was perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious. Her trout filets had great crispy skin. We did the 3 for $35. Everything from soft pretzel sticks with smoked Gouda to the desserts - delicious! The chef came out, introduced herself, and asked about our meals. I would highly recommend this jewel... Julian's!
We loved the Valentines Day tasting menu and will definitely go back for the regular menu. Celina does a fantastic job and has a great staff assisting her.
JULIAN is always my first choice when I need that special meal to set the world right again. The food is the first reason it's my favorite! From there, you get a fantastic selection of wine, beer and whiskey to accompany your meal. Then, just to top everything off, there is prix fixe menu pricing on Monday and Tuesday plus evenings with 1/2 price wine bottles. It is always a treat to get to see Chef Tio!
LOVE. Just love this place. It's our favorite in Kansas City and that says a lot. Granted I like it even more when it's patio season as their outdoor area is quite a bit more charming than the dining room, but we go there for the food and the friendly neighborhood welcome we get from the chef/owner Celina Tio. Some favorites: the salmon is perfection. Also though, I was never a skin-on fish fan until I had her trout. Just wow.
