Dr. Smith has operated on both of my feet. She and her staff go above and beyond for every patient. Immediately after surgery, I had an emergency and they got me right in to make sure everything was okay. I wouldn't go to anyone else. She is the best.
Business response:
Thank you for your kind comments. I am so pleased at your good outcome!
Very thorough surgeon , I had a heel spur removed and she did a excellent job if you listen to her recomindations after the surgury.
Business response:
I am so pleased you had a good experience. You make an excellent point- it is really important to follow the post-operative instructions to get a great outcome.
After waiting an hour at my appointment, she was very rushed and didn't want to answer my questions or simply explain an upcoming surgery. Like I was wasting her time. She then proceeded to cancel my surgery because apparently a patient asking questions is unreasonable. I had already taken time off work for the procedure and had planned it for months. So MY time was wasted. I left the office in tears. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor, and I am in the medical profession.
Business response:
I am grateful to this patient for making me aware of a disappointing office experience. It is my goal to always communicate thoroughly with each patient, and to answer all their questions. If I feel that a surgery is not indicated and the patient wishes to pursue a surgical solution, I offer to refer the patient to another provider for a second opinion. My goal is always to pursue non-surgical options first when appropriate.
She waited until my foot completely collapsed to give me a diagnoses of Charcot Foot. Simple off loading of my foot before it collapsed could of saved me from a lifetime of disfigurement and pain. Speaking of pain I have been complaining of intense pain in my foot for 10 months, and all I have been told is " Oh it shouldn't hurt "
Business response:
Charcot disease of the foot and ankle requires strict non-weight bearing in the active phase to prevent bone collapse. Unless the patient remains non-weight bearing full time in the active Charcot phase, they may develop deformity of the foot or ankle. Charcot is also treated with total contact casting to protect the weakened bones. This is eventually followed by custom bracing. Despite optimal treatment, the bones can still collapse, requiring reconstruction or protection with shoe inserts.
