My friend, Anne, and I drove down from Grand Rapids to spend the afternoon learning about (and tasting) whiskey. We were lucky enough to experience a tour led by the founder, Bill, who answered all our questions and explained the history of the distillery and the unique location beautifully. But what impressed us the most, beyond the gorgeous restored building and the smooth, high-quality libations, was the fact that Bill spent the rest of his afternoon busing tables and wiping up spills. This place has quickly become one of our favorites for any occasion! We just spent our second New Year's Eve there, and everything -- from the cocktails to dinner at Staymaker with a great server, Annie, and capping the night with blues and kazoos -- was perfect. If you're looking for a local place with great proprietors and staff who are doing it right, this is it.

My wife and I went for a brewery, wine and distillery tour and we checked this place out. We loved it. The food was great and the drinks were also excellent. Well worth a stop if you like whiskey, bourbon, or any other alcohols for that matter.
