This place is easily 5 stars based on their spirits. Their gin is out of this world and most of the whiskies are delightful. I want to highlight that I generally go for the spirits and to try cocktails. The staff behind the bar is always competent and they create great cocktails with their own spirits. If you go, you must either try a whisky or gin on its own, but live a little and try a cocktail as well. The food at Staymaker is also very good. On a whim, my boyfriend and I did the tour yesterday while visiting from out of town. It was a great experience, informative and fun. Plus, the amount of samples you get is awesome!!
Highly recommend to visit this amazing place and try their extremely high quality whiskey that's so amazing.
We've been coming to Journeyman almost since it opened in 2011. As always, the drinks, whiskey and food are fantastic! The traveling barrel program is/was very cool, picked up my empty barrel and 4 bottles last October! (Empty barrel makes a great nightstand btw). We've never actually taken the tour though, until yesterday. Was lucky enough to have Bill the founder as our tour guide, great information about the building and their processes. I tried the lavendar gimlet and it was unique and smooth. The staff was friendly and inviting and helped me to select a drink that fit my personal tastes. Even on a busy afternoon, they took the time to help me select a drink that would fit my preferences! What a great and unique venue. The event space was beautiful!
