Mike had cataract surgery last Friday, and surgery went extremely well. His vision had greatly improved by the next morning when he had a check up visit to Dr. Kappil's office. He did not even need dark glasses that morning, and could see very well. Mike chose not to have laser surgery, and instead opted for the traditional surgery. Dr. Kappil did my cataract surgery at Good Shepherd Hospital (Barrington) and I was extremely pleased. His diagnosis explaining the whole procedure thoroughly in advance was appreciated. On surgery day, I was greeted warmly and assured that he was the right one for the job.

Dr Kappil did cataract surgery on my left eye on 3-14-24 with the laser. The results were great and I can see again, have to have my right eye done soon and will have Dr Kappil do that one also.
Dr. Kappil performed two cataract surgeries for me - one on each eye. He was very thorough informing me about the procedures, benefits and risks, and what I should expect. The results of the surgeries were excellent! He was pleasant to deal with and his attention to detail was reassuring. His competence and skill eliminated any concerns I might have had about the procedures. Highly recommend him.
Had perfect eyesight most of my life, age took this away and I had to have a cataract removed. I have always had concerns about anyone or anything touching my eyes. Dr. Kappil explained everything in detail, what was to be done, types of lenses and the different types of procedures. The results are the outstanding return of vision in my right eye with no pain or side effects. His staff at the office is thoughtful and repectful of both me and my time. Definitely one of the Best!
I had an aggressive cataract in my right eye which required extensive preop testing to determine correct lens selection. Dr. Kappil made sure the proper lens parameters were selected based on the testing and performed the surgery. The results were absolutely amazing. My sight is great. I highly recommend Dr. Kappil.
I had a cataract that was causing double vision. I could not drive at night. The double vision made it very hard to read signs. He removed the cataract with no complications and now I see much better.
