Serenity! Tranquility! The people are warm and inviting.
I moved away from Long Island six years ago and Jones Beach was always a place I went for tranquility and calmness as well as fishing on the pier's and in my brothers boat on the bay ... was there yesterday visiting with family on the boat and it doesn't matter how it's not perfectly maintained or that it may need some renovations it was perfect for me as a child and young adult growing up and being able to utilize the resources at the beach!! Nice place for concerts but poorly organized taxis after the show
I always go to Jones beach and never complained but yesterday while in beach 6 which is supposed to be radio free and group of young males blasted their radio with annoying "music" and in top of that started smoking pot, my wife had to go to beach 5 to look for some help that arrived and leave without contacting them, officers didn't even take a look beyond the carpet and left in less than 2 minutes. So we had to leave because of that and we are think if it pays to go back without being bothered. Very bad service from patrol... read more
