We always have a wonderful time at Jones Beach, which is always clean and a wonderful place to relax, walk or swim. However, we were a little disappointed that there were people sitting near us who were smoking, and the wind blew the smoke in our direction. Is smoking permitted on the beach?

This is a beautiful beach. Came here on a perfect summer day. The parking lot had so much activity, we drove around and found a spot right up front. Lots of people use this beach and the life guards are on duty. The waves divine, rough up close and gentle just a little farther. We bring everything we need - chairs, umbrellas, food, lotion etc. Bit they sell or rent it at the concession stand. Had a blast.
