I had a total hip replacement with Dr. Fox and he chose to use a type of implant that has a well know failure of success. I was under anesthesia and therefore didn't have a choice in the implant. I have had nothing but pain, weakness and a very stagnant recovery due to Dr. Fox and Jason (PA) blowing off my concerns and " there is nothing wrong". My right wrist and hand was swollen so much I couldn’t even bend my fingers and the pain was so bad it felt like it was being cut off this was going on for 3 days. I hesitated to call a Doctors office because I have no insurance. I finally couldn’t take the pain so I called Desert Orthopedic Specialists and they were able to get me in within two hours because of a cancellation which I thank the staff for getting me in so fast. Dr. Jonathan Fox replaced my right knee in June 2019 and my left knee in August of the same year. Prior to Dr. Fox replacing my knees in 2019 it was a struggle for me to step up a curb, step off of a curb. Going up or down a flight of stairs was an impossibility at that time. Today, I am walking 4+ miles four or five days a week in addition to riding my bicycle and hiking South Mountain once again. Dr. Fox has given my life back to me. I’ve been going to Dr. Fox for about three or four years and would highly recommend him. He explains what he needs to do and why, he also shows me my X-ray as he is explaining everything. He also doesn’t recommend surgery unless it’s absolutely necessary, unlike a lot of other doctors.
Dr. Fox's staff, and Dr. Fox could not have been more helpful or informative. He clearly enjoys his life work. I am so excited to have Dr. Fox replace my hip joint in July this year and looking very much forward to the surgery snd resuming my usual active lifestyle. His surgery skills are highly respected by his peers and extremely professional. I can think of two referrals already. This was my first visit to Dr. Fox. Waited 1 month for the appointment. Short wait in office. His staff redid the xrays I brought to obtain better quality pictures. This was done quickly with good results. Dr. Fox was attentive and responded well to questions. He explained what was needed and why. His assistant took notes. The visit then went to a scheduler who was very thorough in arranging times and dates and explaining the required paperwork and various Dr. clearances needed to proceed with surgery.
I started to see Dr Fox in 2014 when I was experiencing extreme pain in my right hip, & found out I was bone-on-bone & required hip replacement surgery! I was very pleased then, not only with the surgery, healing & recovery of my hip, but the overall care that was provided at that time! So much so that when I began experiencing pain & discomfort in my left knee & returned to Dr. Fox’s office, it became necessary to recently have a complete knee replacement surgery! I’m in that age bracket where several friends of mine are in the process of scheduling knee, shoulder, and hip replacements. After hearing my horror stories with what Dr. Jonathan Fox did with my knee surgery, they have all scheduled with different orthopedic surgeons. I’m very well connected in the medical community and many friends and acquaintances reach out to me for surgical references. NONE will be scheduling with Dr. Fox.
Dr Fox is very focused on each patient as an individual and is a very kind and talented surgeon.
