Very smart and a great technical surgeon. If you live in west Michigan don't go to a hospital employed surgeon. Go to Dr. Hop
I had knee surgery and now I can walk great again
Of course, everyone wants expertise in their surgeon. After a wonderful hip replacement from Dr. Hop 11 years ago, there’s no one else I’d select now that my other hip needs replacing. I also appreciate that he interacts with me as a person versus a patient number in his very full schedule. Though my surgery has to be several months from now, Dr. Hop is worth the wait.
Procedure was flawless. Super fast recovery.
Dr. Hop as always was very personable and knowledgeable. I never have to question what he is explaining. Always has the patient in mind.
I went through two other doctors before I finally settled on Dr. Hop for a double knee replacement last year. I had almost been in a wheelchair twice due to my arthritis and I rarely left the house and when I did, it was very painful and not pleasant. Dr Hop did my right total hip replacement and will be doing the left within a year or so. He is straightforward and explains things in plain English. Always makes sure you understand and are comfortable with the decisions that need to be made. I hope he doesn't retire for a long time!
He listens and works with me to achieve much needed pain relief..I like that he’s not one of those doctors that will tell me surgery is the only option and whereas I realize someday I may need a knee replacement, right now the injections are working and he’s fine with that.I trust him explicitly and I’m pretty picky when it comes to doctors so I don’t use that term lightly.
Dr. Hop worked with me through initial hip arthritis to an eventual total hip replacement. I was anxious about my surgery and the nuances of recovery and Dr. Hop took the time to meet with me, understand my concerns and help me manage my recovery. I’m grateful for his care.
