A visit to Dr. McGowan is actually a very fine experience. Brief wait time, greeted by friendly staff at reception, then seen and greeted by a very professional, knowledgeable Nurse Named "Crissy". Doc shows up shortly after Nurse interview, one sees their MRI on screen, same is discussed in specific terms, then treatment discussed. Excellent and very professional operation in total. Absolutely do and will continue to recommend Dr. McGowan to any and all.
Dr. McGowan performed a decompressive laminectomy and foraminotomy on me in 2016 for spinal stenosis. Being a physician, I researched and asked colleagues with whom I had practiced with at Medical City Dallas Hospital who they would consult. He came highly recommended. My surgery went well and I have been symptom free since my surgery. I have referred three patients to Dr. McGowan who he operated on. They achieved good results and were very pleased. S. R. M.D.

I found Dr McGiwan to be a very professional, courteous doctor who spent time discussing my issues until I was satisfied I understood the process for resolution. He is a conservative physician who sees invasive procedures as only a last option. After seeing many other physicians to diagnose my back problems, I do not hesitate to state Dr McGowan is the doctor in whom I have absolute confidence he is treating my issue appropriately.
Dr. McGowan is one of the doctors I have ever seen. He listened and answered ever question and got me back to work really quickly. His experience and knowledge are beyond degree. Great doctor!!!!

Dr. McGowan's clear explanations and professional, gentle, easy-going demeanor dissipated my appointment anxiety in the first 10 minutes. He was thorough in his questions and physical exam and gave me all the time I needed to get my questions answered. The office staff was polite and friendly too.
The best ALL around surgeon!! The staff is wonderful. When he saw how much pain I was in, he professionally provided all my option, explained each option in depth, once I made the decision to go forward with the surgery, it was scheduled very promptly. On the day of surgery, my breathing was not good and he would not perform the surgery because it would be so harmful to me. I was so lucky, I ended up in the hospital for 8 day with double pneumonia!! He probably saved my life.
Dr. McGowan is very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain your specific diagnosis. I would highly recommend him.
