Dr. McGowan and his staff are extremely professional and efficient in all aspects of his practice. Dr. McGowan takes his time listening to your concerns and explains all options for you to make a decision. The office is operated very efficiently such that little time is spent checking in or out and receiving follow up instructions.

Dr. McGowan performed 2 surgeries on my neck !! I was very pleased with the surgery!! He explained everything that was going to happen during the surgery and recovery very well!! He didn't sugar coat anything and I really appreciated that!! I would highly recommend his services to anyone!! And I WOULD NOT LET ANYONE ELSE OPERATE ON MY NECK OR BACK!! The hospital was excellent as well!!
Dr McGowan is a very friendly, knowledgeable physician. He explains things in lay terms and very carefully listens to what the patient says to him. I have a great deal of confidence in him and if further care from him is indicted, I will certainly avail myself of it. Good guy, too!
Dr McGowan has managed my back issue since last October. He worked with me to try and hold off on surgery. We tried all the usual therapies but unfortunately my back issue got worse. I had my surgery on May 8th and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I feel great except for the usual surgery pain but that’s temporary. I highly recommend Dr McGowan, aside from being a great Doctor he’s actually a nice guy too!!
They were respectful of my time. The doctor sat while talking to me, which showed he wasn’t in a rush to walk out and made sure I didn’t leave with questions about the plan of care.
Dr. McGowan may well be the best in this area, but I guess I'll never know. I called his office this morning to make an appointment and was told that I needed to be referred by my PCP. I explained that I was referred by a hospital where I had an EMERGENCY, not my PCP. The attendant said she'd take my name and call me back. More than 3 hours later, I called back and she said that Dr. McGowan's nurse "was still busy with patients" and hadn't had time to call me back. I have an urgent situation...
