Exceptional Dr. and staff
Dr McGowan is excellent and very empathetic. I am 84 years old and he took time to explain everything to me. I had my surgery in 45 mins and was walking that evening. I now can walk small lengths without my walker whereas before I was in a wheelchair. I have not needed any opiods for pain. So happy!
I really can't say enough great things about Dr. McGowan and his office. They take such great care of you and make you feel safe during what is a serious health condition. I trust them with my health and so should you.

Dr. McGowan clearly understands the difference between simply hearing and listening/paying attention to a patient. He maintains eye contact,never interrupts, and answers questions to the best of his proven ability. In a word, he treats a patient as a person, NOT AS A CHART. One doesn't feel rushed with him, and his keen sense of humor is readily shown when appropriate. I am grateful to have had successful treatment by this neurosurgeon.
Dr. McGowan performed surgery on my wife, March of this year and went extreamly well. He even took the time before her procedure to have a moment of prayer with her. I was so impressed with Dr. McGowan and his staff that I had full conference he would also be my surgeon when I found out I had no disk between C5&6 that had been causing so much pain. He took the same care for me as with my wife. I would not trust anyone else but Dr. McGowan and his incredible staff for my care.
This first time I had to see Dr. McGowan, he advised me that I needed surgery in order to relieve the pain in my back and legs. He explained the procedure in terms that were understandable and reassuring. After the surgery and the healing time I have never felt better. Two years later and I have problems in another area of my spine and I did not hesitate to return to Dr. McGowan. I will trust him in whatever he recommends this time. I know I am in good hands with Dr. McGowan
Dr. McGowen is an extraordinary doctor. He definitely listens and is genuinely concerned for his patients health. He analyzes and consults with his colleagues that his assessment is the best path forward. I had an issue that needed immediate attention, which he handled immediately. Thanks to Dr. McGowen’s concern and routine check ups, I am doing much better. He definitely gives me piece of mind. I can’t thank my pain doctor enough for adding him to my list of A-team doctors.
