About this business

A neighborhood pub always filled with locals, Joe Jost's is an old-school diner that has been around since 1924. It is truly a local landmark that is mostly known for its devilishly delicious pickled eggs. In fact, these eggs are so popular, the restaurant decided to sell its dry-mix to make at home for those who cannot visit Long Beach. Additionally, Joe's has functioned as a pool hall for nearly a century as well, so when you are done with dinner, don't forget to hit the old snooker table before you go.

Joe Jost's is the only bar in the world. All other bars are paltry imitations of its glory. Here's a brief list of reasons to got to Joe Jost's 1: The house Red Ale is good, so good that it is to be drunk to the exclusion of all other beers 2: One of the decorations is a fucking gun (wicked sick) 3: More antlers than any other bar in town guaranteed 4: If you don't like the pickled eggs fuck you 5: Atmosphere is friendly and trusting 6: Did I mention the wicked sick Mauser they have on the wall? 7: Paintings of the great out... read more

Cool spot to chill at. Beer was exceptionally cheap and cold! Next time I’ll try the food.

Live in Northern California and this place is a must every time I travel down south. My aunt and uncle and parents use to bring me here when I was young. Few years ago I introduced my nephew and now he’s hooked. Just wished me lived closer so we could stop in more often

Ive been going to Joe Jost’s for as long as I can remember. Always a great atmosphere with friendly people. MUST have the the “Special” with a pickled egg and a schooner. I get comments about my t-shirts everywhere I go and always seems to be the most remote locations where you wouldn’t expect to find a Long Beach local.
