Dr Idema was 100% wrong. I am the one paying the price for her mistake. I am beyond upset about this. Zero or negative stars would be more accurate.
I am new to the state. I had a botched hip surgery, and was looking for help. I found this doctor’s website and called, while still in my last home state. I had about a 20 minute intake call, where I explained in detail about my hip and damaged nerve issues. Would NOT Recommend! At my second appointment with Dr Idema, and after her review of my MRI and Xray I was told she could not help me,as my knee in question was more than she felt capable of treating. I now have an appointment with another orthopedic doctor, which is prolonging my treatment and comfort. To add insult to injury not only was I charged and paid my co-payment but my insurance was billed almost $700.00 for nothing, as professional services and a professional recommendation was not received. Only saw doctor immediately before procedure. Ask to talk to doctor before procedure and we received a phone appt with her. I'm sure the PAs are good but we expected to see the doctor in one of the 5 appt we had. Patient saw Dr Idema several years ago in another office. We actually saw the doctor for each appt , pre op and post op. We thought the care was excellent We are not satisfied with care now
I asked her a question that she did not care for and got up and left the room. She is very rude and does not care about her patients. Please go to someone else. STAY AWAY.
Ease in scheduling, helpful staff and most inportantly a great surgeon.
Staff was very friendly and efficient. On time I didn’t have to wait long Dr Idema isn’t rushing into surgery, sending me to PT for six weeks and X-rays Will follow up in six weeks to determine next steps

I was treated by Washington Orthopedic for five months for a work injury. On my last visit they put me on light duty before I thought I was able to go back, so I went to Dr. Idema of Steel City Spine to get a second opinion with the hopes that Dr. Idema would recognize the amount of pain I was in due to a recent setback and allow me two more weeks of rest.
