Being from Texas, we take pride in our BBQ. My first visit, not so great. This visit, HORRIBLE!! Got a three meat plate, you'd figure ONE of them wouldn't be dry as a bone!!! Drake location is great. (5 STARS) Been there many times. Altoona location is horrible. (1-2 STARS) Been once and that was enough. Terrible food, rude service and even worse follow up. Will never go back to Altoona, will go back to Drake.
Food was decent, the first time I went, but got seated outside, and spent most of my time brushing ants off myself and the table, getting ignored by the staff, and (because it was windy), picking ants out of my water and food. Excellent food and service , We love it!!
We drove all the way from Crystal Lake, Illinois to have the BBQ.... AND THEY WERE CLOSED!! They were doing floor remodeling, so we couldn't be too upset. We ended up going to a nearby burger place, which was good. One day we hope to make it back to actually eat there.
