I ate some great BBQ when I visited my brother who lives close to the Waukee location. Great staff, great iowa bbq
I had the Jethro sandwich. One of the best meals that I have ever had. I highly recommend to eat here.
The food is very good, but also not very sophisticated. Friendly service.
The worst ever. Brisket was dry no flavor. Bbq ribs you could not even get off the bone dried out and hard as a rock.cottage cheese was warm and runny. We had the waitress take our plates and told her to throw it in garbage..not even gonna take it home for dog. .
I was so very disappointed. We were in town for training and were excited to have a lunch break long enough one day to make it here. Both the burger and the pork chop sandwich were burned quite badly. The bun for my burger was soaked to the point that I couldn't pick it up and had to great my burned burger with a fork. We ordered take out from the West Des Moines location tonight. When we got home we realized that we had been given someone else's order. I called right away and they had already discovered what happened and were very apologetic. we live fairly close so I went back to get the correct food. The manager met me as I walked in and apologized again and in my opinion he went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. Couldn't eat it after seeing all of the hair in the nachos. Disgusting.
I used to love this place, but any more you can't trust the consistency. Today I ordered a half rack of ribs and 3 meats (turkey, pulled pork, and brisket). The brisket was inedible and didn't even look smoked. It was a grey opaque color rather than brown with a red smoke ring. The pulled pork had more fat than meat, and the turkey was one large chunk of meat. The only good thing are the sides. Good thing Woody's is close by because I know where I can get consistent great brisket.
