The best little steakhouse... – If a variety of steaks is your fare, this is the place. The steaks taste great, and the service is very good. Its quite expensive, but the 30 ounce porterhouse is well worth its asking price.

I wish!! – On a trip to the K.C. area we decided to look up Jess and Jim's, who we were told had great food. As a resident of Omaha, we have our share of poor, average,and good places to eat. Driving three hours to shop, and anticipating a memorable steak dinner,alas, we were treated to rather ordinary restaurant food, average beef, and average service. We would have done much better at a chain steak house and not have had to drive to the netherlands of K.C.. Two hours later we're looking for a McDonald's!!! Let's hope they ... read more

Maybe the worst steak in KC – I really cant believe that anyone would think that this is a good steak house let alone the best in KC! I have eaten at all of them & this one is the worst! I've had to go there several times but will never go back again!

Out-of-the-way – If you know where it is, excellent. Parking limited. Very good food, but very busy.

No Better – I've worked in 42 different states and 9 foreign countries and Jess & Jims is absolutely THE BEST! I used to live in KC and now Ca. but I travel to KC 3 times a year to visit and eat at J&J"s. You folks are lucky to be so close. My first visit was 1978 and I will always come back no matter where I am.

Not as Good As In The Past – Jess and Jim's seems to be living on the reputation of its former owners who made it one of the top 3 steakhouses in America. Current owners do not manage it closely enough. On any given night you could get a BAD steak. Our last trip, 3 of us got bad steaks, really bad ones too in that ALL three had so much gristle they were not fit to eat and two of three were over-cooked but the joint was too busy and too many kiddies screaming to mess with a complaint. Time to close the doors – Our dining experience at Jess and Jims was one of the worst I have ever, ever encountered. We took a large party for a special event. We waited 40 minutes to order our food. It took another 45 minutes for our cold steaks to arrive. The potatoes tasted like they had been cooked a week ago. I'll never go back. There are much better places to eat steak in KC... don't waste your time or money.

ANNIVERSARY DISSAPOINTMENT – My son took his wife to jess&jims for their 16th anniversary and he said it was the worst steak he had gotten in a restaurant in KC. He complained and they did nothing. Pretty bad for a place thats been in bussiness as long as they have. Another birthday celebrated there a year ago with 10 people was also a disasster. Very dissapointing.
