Jerry's Rock and Gem was established in 1954 as Jerry's Agate Shop by a Boeing machinist named Jerry Appleton. He wanted to supply his own rock habit and to fill the needs of other rock hounds. Jerry moved the store to its current location in 1962, as the business had out grown the restrictions of his own home. Then in 1982, after years of enjoyment, Jerry decided to retire and sold the business to a friend of mine, Tom, a journeyman jeweler and rockhound. Love the huge selection and awesome prices. I have never walked out without purchasing something so I need to pace my visits but everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and great to work with. I am having an old stone set into a new setting and a new stone set into something fun to wear.

everyone there is highly knowledgeable...is willing to look things up for you if stumped...is ready to go the extra mile to make you feel welcome each time you come in and satisfied each time you leave. lovely people with the loveliest attitudes about all things in general.
Came in with my 5yo who wants to be a paleontologist and we walked around for an hour admiring everything. My daughter even got to hear the owner talk to her about digging up a triceratops and a baby trex. She loves this place and we will be back!
