Jerry's Rock and Gem was established in 1954 as Jerry's Agate Shop by a Boeing machinist named Jerry Appleton. He wanted to supply his own rock habit and to fill the needs of other rock hounds. Jerry moved the store to its current location in 1962, as the business had out grown the restrictions of his own home. Then in 1982, after years of enjoyment, Jerry decided to retire and sold the business to a friend of mine, Tom, a journeyman jeweler and rockhound. Orion the Maine Coon Cat has done an excellent job directing his human staff to make this a really excellent little rock shop! I do wire wrapping and I'm always shopping for good finds. The prices are super reasonable, they have a gorgeous selection of stones, and everyone here is great! Only complaint is that on my first visit they opened 15 minutes late and I watched 3 people try to wait but left. Lost business for them, not my problem. I held out and the wait was worth it!
Awesome place! See something new every time i go in there! My christmas wish list could get filled up from all the beautiful things they have! They are so friendly too and will take time to explain and talk about the different rocks, gems, and fossils they have.
Lovely little shop. It's small but has what I need - and a very cool kitty employee!
