I made an appointment in February of 2026 for a new patient consultation that was to occur in August 2026 (earliest available). I got a call today (July 17th) that due to their new surgery center opening, they would be moving my appointment and the earliest would be March 2027! Unacceptable! I have already waited this long, made plans, called to see if I could be moved up in the waitlist, etc. Very unprofessional for a clinic to conduct business. I will be going somewhere else.
Dr. Carlsen is fantastic & worth the drive from Knoxville. The wait times can be longer than expected, but I’ve discovered if I bring snacks and things for my daughter & me to do, it’s not so bad. It is clear how incredibly knowledgeable and thorough he is. He & his nurse took the time to explain everything in a way that made us feel confident and informed. Dr. Carlsen saved my daughter’s vision and I will be forever thankful. At our last appointment I asked if I could bring our soon to be newborn and he was happy to oblige.... read more
