Took my girlfriend there two nights ago for her birthday, Atmosphere was lovely waitress was wonderful. Food on the other hand wasn't so great ordered steak it took a very long time to get it and it was cold when I got it ordered crab cakes as an appetizer also cold .. as it was my girlfriend's birthday I didn't want to make a scene and complain and I've always had really good luck with Jax wonderful food but this time I was just left thinking I should have stayed home and cook myself.
The food was just OK. I've had better steak dinner at Lindsey's and the Porterhouse at a far more reasonable price. The service was not up to snuff either. The waitress got our order messed up and 2 of our party of seven had to watch us eat while there dinner was reordered.

A fun time with excellent food and staff. We always have a great time at Jax Cafe :). And Michael from Jax took one of the lobsters out of the tank to show the younger kids in our group. They loved it!

I ordered the filet & was brought a different steak that reminded me of a neighborhood steakhouse it had so much fat I didn't eat most of it. The Crab Cakes were my highlight & that was an appetizer.

The service was amazing and the food good. Worth eating at.
Wonderful experience at a Saturday Luncheon with the Sons of the American Revolution. Provided elevator service for me. The meal was delicious from salad, to fish entree and dessert. Excellent service. Thank you.

One of the last few true old school style fine dining restaurants in Minneapolis. A first class experience all the way. :-)
