If you are looking a steak this is the place!!! – My wife and I stopped last night for the first time. We arrived just after 5pm. We waited about half an hour for a table. The waitress was very friendly, giving us assistance on choosing a wine to go with with two of the best New York steaks that either of us have had for quite sometime. She gave us a complementary dessert to celebrate our first visit and anniversary. We were very impressed with the outstanding service and meal. We will recommend Jak's to all of our friends a... read more
Two hours for a table? Forget it! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! – We wanted to give this place a try but were told there would be a two hour wait for a table. We put our name down and went into the bar. It was too small, crowdede and noisy for us to have a conversation so we decided to head down the street to the wine bar where we could unwind, have a drink and compare notes on the day. After an hour there we head back to Jaks and order another drink in the crowded noisy bar. After at least an hour I walk over to the hostess station ... read more
long, long wait for medicore food with substandard service – We waited almost 2 hours for a table. After being seated, finally, we waited another 20 minutes before we were finally able to get our server to grace us with her presence. When she pitched up it was only to tell us that she was busy...then she walks off! After another 10 minutes she turns up to ask us rather gruffly what we want to order. No explanation of specials or recommendations. When we inquire about these she simply said "we're sold out" then stares at us. ... read more
These people are crazy! JAKS IS GREAT! – What is wronge with these people? Are they use to dining were their is never a wait? Ummm, not a good sign if a business in not BUSY! We love JAKS! We have been going there for years---so has most of Issaquah! Thats why there is such a long wait-Its the most popular restaurant in town! The steaks are AMAZING. They just had a "cowboy ribey" that my husband could not stop talking about (tryed to made it at home-we decied it just better to go to JAKS). The service has always been wonderf... read more
Really awful service – he employees of this place are really terrible. The hostesses are stuck up idiots who could care less about you as a customer. The waitresses are more of the same - all you are is a prospective tip. The manager is one step removed from the trailer park. Anyhow, the last straw for us was watching the manager picking his nose while he's talking to one of the waitresses! Unbelieveable! We will NOT be going back to Jaks.
Gauche Maitre'D – The Maitre'D is a slovenly, tasteless boor. He wears a cheap suit and jingles his change in his pocket. There must be a couple of faux gold chains beneath the J C Penny's polyester necktie he wears. My point? I went to this man to complain that after a two-hour wait for a table we found the service to be rude and the food lacking in quality. His reply? "Nobody else seems to have a problem!" I mean really! I thought this was a joke but the sad truth is that the front line management probably trained at a sle... read more
Time to find a new favorite restaurant – Since new ownership has come in over the last few years this place is seriously going downhill. What was once the premier steakhouse in Seattle is quickly becoming Denny's. They've lost their focus on good food and have started sullying the menu with sh!t like mac and cheese and *onion rings* and steaks with sauces. They're also now doing lunch and a Sunday brunch. Even the steaks have been "meh" the last several times eating there. It seems the new owners are only interested in milki... read more
A Jewel – What a gem Jaks is. Really quality food, and great atmosphere. Unfortunately some people decided to bring their 1 year old tazmainian devel with them to dinner and it almost ruined our meal. We don't usually spend $30.00 per entree just to be exposed to someone else's wild children. Hint, leave the brats at home. The wait staff was on our side and after a few hints from us they apparently took care of the situation. They earned thier tip.
Great Host and bar Service – Great hosts and cocktail staff during the long wait for a table. Worst steak salad ever. Will impress any soccer mom.
