Not good! – if you are anything but a guy dont go....they dont treat guys well...much better bars in the area (lots agree)
Good Fun, Good Company, and an Overall Good Loose Night in NYC! – I've gone to Jake's a few times in the last few years, and everytime I go, I've had a great time. Some nights are better than others, but there are no complaints. The bartenders are on top of everything; I've never had to wait drastically long for service. No Specials On Friday - Go with your group and you can have a good time – I would have to say all in all this is an average bar. Went there on Friday and was paying $5 for Bud Lights. Seems that they have specials everyday but Friday. Bartenders were great as it was packed with a younger college crowd and you could still get a drink without a long wait. The owners are doing themselves a disservice with this staff - too many better dive bar options in the neighborhood. – I'm guessing that the owners/staff of the bar wrote at least half of those 'positive reviews'. Seriously, this place went downhill in the last few years(it was always a dive bar, but b/f it was awesome within the context of it's genre). Uptown College Bar – Its a college dive bar, but one in which is a lot of fun especially during weekends. Its never been too crowded, drinks are pretty cheap, and the atmosphere is rowdy but casual.
Always a fun low key hang out – This place is very low key and fun! My friends and I always have a great time with the adoring bartenders dave and jack. So cute you want to eat them. The drinks are great and munchies are available. Shoot pool, play beer pong or flirt. Whatever you decide you will be in good company. Plus, there are a string of similarly fun places on the block. worth a visit – My friend and I have been to Jake's a bunch of times, usually during the week. Definitely not trendy - just a good place to grab a beer with your friends. The bartenders are solid and there's usually new beers there that I haven't heard of. Prices and specials are decent, too
My night with Tony Danza – Ok, so been going to Jake's for about a year. thursday nights rock. $10 PITCHERS of shots. Yes I said pitchers. Can't beat the prices. Bartenders are nice, and attractive. Plus last week Tony Danza was there yelling out quotes from Broke Back Mountain. I must say... all-in-all a vrey fun Thursday night.

Happy hour and impressive almost-nightly drink specials aid beirut, pool and dart players in getting especially sloshed. Jake's has a dozen beers on draft, including Guinness, and a bevy of microbrews, including their own.
