Emerging from the alcoholic waves of post-Prohibition activity, Jack Fry's tavern opened up way back in 1933. Mr. Fry closed the original incarnation of the restaurant in 1972 and it changed hands for a few years until it re-opened with the same moniker in 1987. The new owner (a former waitress at old Jack's) still pays homage to the man with his old horse racing pictures and other sports memorabilia hanging on the walls. Delicious anniversary dinner for myself and my husband. Service was great, and everything was cooked perfectly. We hadn't been here since out first year dating (6 years ago), and I'm so happy we returned this year!
Well this was our favorite place to go every time we came to Louisville. The owner and manager were so great about getting us a table and we loved where we sat, then down hill. Server had no opinion on any food items, when we did see her. Rabbit was dry, shrimp had a weird tecture and tasted like chlorine, salad was so bitter and where was the apple, the fish slightly overcooked and luke warm but they put ice cold crabmeat on top straight from the fridge. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our dinner so much. The food was amazing, the service was top notch, and the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be dining here many more times in the future. I want to thank the staff for the great experience!
