Emerging from the alcoholic waves of post-Prohibition activity, Jack Fry's tavern opened up way back in 1933. Mr. Fry closed the original incarnation of the restaurant in 1972 and it changed hands for a few years until it re-opened with the same moniker in 1987. The new owner (a former waitress at old Jack's) still pays homage to the man with his old horse racing pictures and other sports memorabilia hanging on the walls. Jack Fry's never disappoints. The rabbit tortellini appetizer was wonderful. I had the ruby red trout and my husband the veal special for our entrees. We were very pleased and the wait staff was cheerful and attentive. Thank you!

My fiance and I enjoyed our first occasion at Jack Fry's last week and it was truly a wonderful experience. I have lived in Louisville for six years and have always wanted to try Jack Fry's but I was saving it for a very special occasion. We were not disappointed! My fiance is a chef and he felt that the cuisine was exceptional. I appreciated the atmosphere as it truly takes you back in time to a different era. Always the best food and service. A bit loud at times but it adds to the atmosphere. Only problem I have is deciding what to order!
