Expensive but fun. Wave at the TMZ buses as they go by. – Nice staff, nice food,great Gimlets. Over priced but you knew that when you walked in!
Great Dinner – First trip to The Ivy, and we we very impressed. We had 7pm reservation, got there a little late, and were seated immediately on the patio. The restaurant was full, but did not have a crowded feel. The Service was quick and friendly the ambiance was perfect, sure there is a little street noise, but that is to be expected when you are sitting on a patio next to the street. Good Neighborhood Place – I'd been going to the Ivey well over a decade but had not gone for several years until a recent visit. I understand why this place gets mixed reviews. Admittedly, it's pricey, sometimes noisy, the service is not consistent and you really have to order the right dishes because some are really quite tasty but others not so much. Absolutely the best – My family made a reservation and when we got there we could not get a table. When we FInALLY did, we ordered the swordfish tacos, their AMAZING purred fruit drink, grilled veggie salad, and some pasta. This meal was one of the best I have ever had in my whole life!!!! At the end of our simply delectable meals, we ordered the old fashion red velvet cake and let me tell you, it was like NO other. You are crazy not to love this place.
star watching? – My niece visiting LA to look at colleges was desperate to go to The Ivy. SHe'd read in the celebrity mags that Christina Aguilara and Paris Hilton eat here. We didn't see anyone famous, or at least we didn't see anyone I knew was famous, but the food was excellent and my niece had a good time.
Not impressed – If you want to see a celebrity, or should I say. . . see a celebrity that wants to be seen, then go. This place is very over priced and the food is not good. I got a crab omelette and it had shells in it!
Don't bother - it's not what it used to be! – Dear Ivy, You have always been one of our favorite restaurants. We are Malibu locals and have been coming for years. Unfortunately, last night you blew it! We had heard from so many other people that the service was getting bad, the food wasn't as good as it used to be, but still we kept coming. Not for foodies – The food is just okay for a high end, top of the line LA restaurant. It is fresh and tasty but in my opinion not really special but the Ivy at the Shore is more for the atmosphere.
