One of my new Favorites! :) – I love Irregardless Cafe. I've only eaten here a handful of times, but the food is excellent and I really enjoy the atmosphere. To be honest, I had passed by the place for a while but had never given it much thought until I read something about it online. My boyfriend and I visited on a weekend evening without a reservation and decided to go to the bar instead of waiting for a table. The bartender was great to talk to! Last Thursday, March 25 – This neighborhood restaurant has loyal clients for good reason. As a long time customer I was taken aback during a nice conversation with the bartender, when the manager showed up at 9:30, in shorts, flip flops and tee shirt (I suspect he'd had a few drinks) and flipped all the lights on. It totally interrupted dinner service and conversation. I've worked food service before and for the guy to bustle in at the end of the night, dressed like that, and turn the lights on was just rude!

Delicious Dinner from Appetizer to Dessert – The service team made sure all aspects of the meal flowed well. The whole staff was attentive to the whole restaurant. The music was pleasing support to our conversations. The meal was consistent in flavor and presentation: Vegan perogies and pesto polento for appetizers. Avocado salad with the house Lemon Tahini Dressing. Paella with abundant succulent toppings and crisped rice. Classic Morgan Street Chicken that melted upon chewing. Cheesecake, Smooth wine. Great food, service, and athmosphere....Creepy manager. – My husband took me here this weekend for a special Valentine's Day meal. Almost everything was excellent. The live music and overall aura of the restaurant was very pleasant and fitting for the evening. The server was absolutely wonderful and pleasant, and the food was outstanding (Great starters, I had the squash, my husband a great fish plate for dinner, and we both shared a heavenly piece of cheesecake for dessert). Our Favorite – Irregardless is simply a great restaurant. My wife and I have enjoyed it for years. The menu has something for everyone and it changes enough that even the regulars can find something new. We like the atmosphere and the live music. They even have some artwork from one of our favorite artists, Kyle Highsmith! The price is very reasonable and the small plates are really not small! Irregardless is a good place for special events or just a simple "night out."

Food's not so good – I admit I had not been to the Irregardless Cafe since perhaps the '80s. My wife and I recently went on a parent's night out to the Irregardless Cafe and were really disappointed in the food. * The "paella" the server raved about was a seafood stir over rice. Not cooked together. The seafood seemed to have been overcooked. It did not even seem to have saffron? * The shrimp on the shrimp and pasta dish were hard cooked. Delicious! Easy to become a 'regular' – I'm fairly new to Irregardless but like to think I'm becoming a regular. I have been several times now, both for lunch and dinner. My servers have always been helpful in their recommendations, and I've thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes I've tried. The food is fantastic! The owner is very personable and has remembered me and made me feel welcome. I plan on bringing out-of-town friends here for dinner so they can see more of what Raleigh is all about!

Abysmal. A low unlike any I could've ever dreamed of. – First of all, let me state that I've been to this restaurant twice. Once was last night for my friend's birthday and the previous time was two years ago. When I went there in 2007, our waitress was extremely rude, barely spoke to us and generally had the social graces and charm of a corpse. The food, however, was top notch. Waste of a Birthday – I recently had a birthday dinner along with 7 of my closest friends. The service was deplorable. Honestly I have worked in food service, my father is a chef, my mother a food and beverage manager and I have NEVER been some where with service this bad. First tip off should have been when we were seated and told they were short on menu's. Fifteen minutes later we recieved the rest of the menu's for the table but had yet to be greated by our waiter. 20 minutes after that we finally were addressed by a wait... read more
