customer service – I was shocked at how poorly my party of six was treated. We had reservations, we were told to wait while our table was prepared, we waited several minutes and then was shown to our table, the only one sitting by itself in the middle of the dining room. We asked for an empty booth but was told that was reserved for the owner. We were 'shooed' out to the waiting area and were told we were to,"take it or leave it." Fabulosos – Absolutely positively the best margaritas I have tasted. The large on the rocks no salt were potent but virtually no alcoholic taste. I didn't believe there was any tequila in there...until I stood up!!
Incredible!!! – The food and service was amazing for us. The ratings are incrdible for a reason. I love this place and I want to share it with anyone who looks through this. I cannot believe this restaurant is not in Houston. The seafood enchilaladas were to die for, and the chicken fried ribeye makes me crazy. All I can say is, "go for it." We had an awesome evening with the family.
Taste-I – Good food (tasty, nothing you can't get elsewhere), great service, good drinks (have some tequila). The north location boasts intimacy, while the downtown location provides a superb view of 6th whilst dining. Priced fairly -- not cheap, but large enough to split. I recommed the duck enchiladas.
Awesome and delightful! – Iron Cactus is where I bring my out of town friends and clients because it defines Austin at its very best. The chef had prepared a pecan crusted filet that was to die for and the service is always friendly and attentive. Two thumbs up!!! Peace!
Use to be a fun bar with ok food! – Good Friday night, Post and Pre UT football bar with ok service. They have lowered their standards and let just anyone in this bar. The meal portions are smaller and have gone from ok to questionable in quality. This use to be on of my favorites places!
Best Margaritas in Town – The Iron Cactus is undoubtably one of the best places to go out for fine dining in an upscale/casual (only in Ausitn) ambiance. Their margaritas are the best in Austin and their new chef has revamped the menu for an almost gourmet southwestern dining experience. And to end the meal just right their deserts will make you melt!! Best of all, there's rarely a wait due to fact that they off the beaten path.
Excellente – From Happy Hour to Last hour! What a cool place for a date. This was our first date and we thought we'd hang out and have some drinks then move on to a restaurant we had reservations to but we had so much fun we stayed and had the best time. The food was awesome and our waiter was top-notch. I strongly recommend Iron Cactus because it was an all in one venue. Gunther
What a pleasant suprise! – I thought they were know for their drinks, but I received a pleasant suprise tonight. We had some friends in town and they wanted to go to an Austin restaurant and we did a search on Citysearch and saw the reviews on Iron Cactus up North, so we thought we'd give it a shot.
