Glad we were able to go early. I couldn't believe how long the line was when left.
It was great to see a part of history, I hope they continue doing the tours and open more up to be seen

I would like to thank all the volunteers that worked so hard to bring this opportunity to us. You each gave up a lot of your time and energy to share your stories with us and your Sunday. I hope the numbers show the state (#ThisIsIowa) that there is more than enough interest to open #HISP to tours in the future.
I would have loved to see the other holding areas and the visiting areas but we were restricted to behind the walls where maximum is held. I think for everyone to get a clear picture seeing John Bennett and the visitor areas would have given a better more detailed idea of what they went through and what their families went through.
Thank you so much to the warden & all the volunteers for giving the public the opportunity to tour the facility. It was a very interesting & educational tour with the guides sharing their stories. I really hope the state of Iowa plans on keeping the facility for a museum.
