My first experience with a mid-west hospital was yesterday at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. I’ve been on the east coast for 64 years and I know what a number of Maryland, DC, Delaware and Virginia hospital’s are like. After breaking my ankle and having to go through surgery back in July, I chose to go with Unity Point Ankeny Physical Therapy for my recovery. I started PT at the beginning of September and Steve helped me regain flexibility and strength in my ankle giving me the confidence to walk again. I had the pleasure of experiencing physical therapy at the Altoona clinic and must say I had a fabulous experience! The staff was very nice and explained to me how it worked since I've never injured myself to the point needing PT, but this time I did. Amy, my trainor, you're awesome! Highly recommend! I also set appointments for the Des Moines clinic for check ups and sickness. They have had to deal with me a lot this year and would also recommend!
I’ve had the pleasure of spending a lot of time at Methodist hospital recently and I have to say this group of people are the BEST!! The nurses and Dr.’s are kind, caring, and really in tune with the patients needs. COVID has delayed procedures because of the fear of contracting it in the hospital setting but it shouldn’t have!! The maternity center at unity point Des Moines is top notch. The nurses here are seriously amazing! If you have a choice of where to give birth, I highly suggest coming here. They keep calm under pressure, keep you calm and sane and are so compassionate and caring.

My son was seen in the ER at Unity point. While in the ER I was given a quote for the expected services. I was then billed for services that were not performed and the amount was over 4x what I was quoted. I have been going back and forth for several months. I have spoken with several people about this and they all say the same thing...it was documented so it happened. I would not recommend going to this hospital!
