DO NOT BUY COVERAGE WITH IMG. Bought this insurance for 3 months of coverage last year (while I transitioned to live in the United States from Brazil). During those 3 months I suddenly needed to go to the ER because of severe abdominal pain, keep in mind I was a healthy 27 year old at this time, so this was alarming and unusual - definitely an emergency. They DENIED ALL MY CLAIMS, claiming preexisting conditions, and stuck me with about $6,000 in hospital bills that I have no easy way of paying since I was awaiting work auth... read more

I've had policies with IMG for the last few years while living in Japan. I, fortunately, hadn't needed to file a claim until last year, and it was only for the $250 travel vaccination benefit. I went on safari in Kenya last year and needed quite a few vaccinations and boosters, which totalled over $1000, well over the maximum covered, but should easily qualify for the reimbursement of the $250. My partner and I went in a long trip and unfortunately both had to visit the doctor. I had GI issues and she had a foot issue. After following all their directions during a live phone call I submitted my forms in full. I heard absolutely nothing for 2 whole months. I then called, and messaged, and finally got a hold of someone, they said they would expedite things and I would hear back in a week of less. Total lies. Our office has been trying for many months but has been unsuccessful at receiving payment from United Healthcare IMG on one of our patients. We have reached out to the insurance carrier many times to rectify this matter but have gotten absolutely no where with this. We get notices in the mail to send medical records and the invoices to a different claims address, yet that does not even work. It's very frustrating dealing with this insurance company!!!

Thank goodness I didnt pay for an annual medical policy with these fraudsters. On attempting to renew my policy ( thank god I didnt need it ) I became aware of their claim their site and all comms had been hacked - this is lies. I traced / tracked down the owner of 'Patriot Travel Insurance' - another scam artists and also spoke to United Healthcare for 50 minutes. Its all a pyramid of lies, deceit and they will NEVER pay out your money. This is a totally unprofessional, unethical company who had I been in a medical disaster... read more

Do not i repeat do not use them. They will drag you for months and not pay for anything. Taking your money will be so easy but when you actually need the insurance it will cover nothing. If you read this make sure you close the browser window with that company.

They take your money in an instant but other than that- forget it! According to their website a local hospital was supposed to be a direct biller- untrue! Paid for all the services out of pocket and then filed a claim on their website. Uploaded everything in full detail but this company has terrible claims service. They say that they process claims in 30 days but that's a total lie. I contacted them three times on their live chat and each time it's the same old story- they are delayed in processing or backed up in work, blah... read more

Unscrupulous. Every document filled out to perfection, and attached every receipt, itemized list, doctor’s note. They let claims drag out 7 months, continuously claiming additional medical reports and receipts were needed, until they finally admitted months later that they were attached already, and then claimed later they were not attached, and then claimed they contacted the hospital themselves to get them and finally received them, but they refused to tell me which magical phantom documents they fetched on their own that ... read more

Horrible customer service. I'm told after sending information that I need something else. After a month I'm told that they will accept it and expedite processing. After a month I'm told that they need something different. I'm going off to serve again in a month and might just be out over $1,000 because of this nonsense. They say a supervisor will call within 48 hours, that has never happened. Never got an email reply. Their portal provides little information.
