The Independence Center is absolutely the best place for people who need to re-integrate back in society.Sure you can't please everybody but only if they don't take advantage of the Club houses benefits.I recently had to be hospitalized for depression and I don't have family or friends to visit me,Except here comes the Independence center staff to visit me when they visited me I cried because I felt alone and they come in like the Calvary I was so proud to be a member at that point and that is what I mean buy people don't us... read more
Looks are deceiving. As a member, I now understand why attendance has been steadily dropping over the past 3 years (info given at a recent town hall meeting). Membership is over 50% black but board and other committees are predominantly white. Kind of like visiting South Africa during Apartheid. I may be a disgruntled member but I am not a liar.
We toured this past week & it was magnificent! Keep up the great work! You’re an inspiration!

Yes they help but they have faults give members a real say not just lip service
