TCF recently migrated their site for loan payments and locked customers out of their accounts. I've waited on hold for over five hours without ever reaching a customer service rep. It's been over a month and it's still not possible to get through. This is customer service at it's worst.
Do NOT use this company. They have the worst customer service and even worse mortgage assistance. Like millions of others, I applied for the loan assistance on my mortgage due to covid. I was told I'd be receiving paperwork to get notarized (waited 4 weeks and had to call and request again). I took it to get notarized and sent it back overnight the next day along with my current month payment. A month later I get my statement and see that they never processed my paperwork or payment and now are charging me a late fee. After ... read more

The people I spoke to were nice. I called after receiving a Dormant Account letter. A company I worked for changed their pensions and opened an account there. I don't have the account number but I get correspondence from time to time. I called to address the letter and spent 45 minutes on hold. I then needed to be transferred to retirement services. I've been on hold for them an hour and 25 minutes and counting. I'm held hostage. I don't know how they are in business with these kind of hold times. I'm more likely to get thro... read more
The one-star reviews here are accurate. When I first got a bank account at Huntington, we got a free savings account. Every month, though, they assessed a fee. Every month, we called to remind them that the account was advertised as "free", and every month, they promised it wouldn't happen again. My family should have known better then, but we stuck with them. Then, I started to fall ill and couldn't work. Eventually I ended up in the hospital. This is horrible bank . they have my equity line of credit, i have been making an automatic payments, they merged with ************* and deleted all my information, send me letter to re register. i have no new account no., i tired to contact them, no one answers the call, for days i call in and stay on hold and no one answers, send emails to their support line and no one answers. It must be scam to collect late fees from everyone.
I recently (3/2020) became a customer of this lender and i was able to send payment relatively easily, not the most intuitive technology like Chase and the big banks, but in August I have not been able to pay them no matter what I try.I setup a EFT from Chase to them, no go. I mailed a check, no go, I try to log into the site, it doesn't work and doesn't recognize my login any longer either. Worst bank in the world. it is scam not answer phone calls and resolve issues to collect late fees.
I was happy to get an account withTCF because they have free checking. The old saying is true, You get what you pay for. If I could give this bank 0 stars, I would. I could name countless things theyve done that are just plain bad business but now theyre literally stealing my money. It has never been so hard to make a loan payment. Their online site is a mess! I set up my payments on auto, thinking that would be easy. It wasnt because your account number is different from the one provided. Then when I finally got it set up, I get an email saying we are sorry for the inconvenience but we are changing all our computer systems, so you the customer will have to go stop those payments and add a new one.
