If you're looking for a place that is reputable to adopt a shelter pet please consider the humane society of greater Miami. All of the workers and the volunteers there really get to know the animals they know their temperament they know what they're like and they can tell you all about every single animal there.
I adopted my dog Scotty from this facility 4 years. Both the facility and staff are great. Nicest shelter I have ever visited. Beautiful and well maintained. I cannot say enough about the staff and volunteers. Compassionate, patient and it really mattered to them who you went home with-ensuring the pet was a good fit for your family. I just visited the facility this morning. It was very well-run and the staff was fantastic. I went in search of kittens and as I observed the staff and volunteers, they seemed to really care. The place was clean and organized. I will have good feelings about the Humane Society when I eventually adopt my new pals.
