Dr. Hughes is a miracle worker! I couldn't sleep. couldn't eat, and suffered mania of pacing throughout my house nonstop for hours on end with extreme high anxiety and depression; I couldn't even function with daily routine things or go to the grocery store. I was scared to start with a new doctor and experimenting with meds to see what would work. Severally overprescribes controlled substances, resulting in addiction along with other serious health problems. Red Flags: handwritten medical records; difficulty obtaining copies of medical records; jumps to prescribing controlled substances without trying non-controlled substances first; readily ups the dosage and refills controlled substances simply by a phone call.
I have been a long term patient of Dr. Hughes. He is amazing. Exactly what anyone would want in a therapist and he helped get me through some pretty rough times. Highly recommended.
I absolutely love Dr. Hughes. He is a very kind man and an amazing psychiatrist. He helped me get back to feeling like myself and gave me information and medications that have improved my quality of life significantly. I would highly recommend him to ANYONE looking for a psychiatrist!
I would not recommend this doctor. He does not give courtesy calls on when your appointment is, especially if it 6 months out. He tends to talk over me every time when I am trying to talk. Also, I was out of medication and set an appt up at he refused to refill my prescription and said I will have to go without it for that time being. He also raises his voice in anger over the phone. I would give him a quarter or no star if I could.
Dr Hughes has literally saved my life. He’s been treating me for anxiety/ depression for nearly a decade. I find him to be direct, empathetic and insightful. I have never felt “judged” by Dr Hughes and in fact he was incredibly supportive when my employer raised inappropriate questions regarding my treatment for anxiety/ depression. He strikes me as having a dry sense of humor and has been nothing but kind and responsive to my medical needs. I recommend him to anyone who asks me.

One of the most mean, rudest, psychiatrist I have ever met. He is not understanding and numerous times made me feel incompetent and dumb just by the way he spoke to me. He has a huge ego, that does not help being able to open up to him. DO NOT GO TO HIM.
Already have recommended friends to his practice. Treated me for over 15 years and is amazing doctor.
