Predatory, incompetent, and criminal institution. I've heard enough horror stories of their tactics. The tax preparer I worked with strongly advised I use a different routing number and as a result has ruined all my refunds and stimulus check. We should all be compensated directly from them.
The only reason I gave them 1 star was because I couldn’t give them 0 and be able to file a complaint. I feel that as a business you are obligated to keep your customers in the know about what you know and What we can do regarding the stimulus payment. We are in a state of emergency and most all of us need those payments. To tell customers who are seeking answers “well the stimulus is just a bonus for me so I don’t need to check the irs website” is not ok. After H&R Block’s tax specialists messed up my taxes by saying I was paid by my employer because “they should be paying me hourly” even though I specifically told her I only worked for tips... my taxes were audited and Even though I was a loyal customer for years who always paid for peace of mind they were absolutely no help! Basically all they did was tell me what the paper said that the irs sent me (which I can read myself, I would not pay someone to do)... We had a horrible experience with H&R Block's online tax service. We caught multiple mistakes made by the "tax pro" and it took days of talking in circles to get the issues resolved. Further, we encountered issues with the website when trying to finally sign our return. We will never use H&R Block again and wouldn't recommend anyone else do so.
I have been going to H&R for almost 20 years but this was the last time! Without going in to specific details about the encounter of poor customer service I received from the agent and the receptionist, I can only say that they forgot to submit my filing for four weeks after my appointment and when we called to ask them about it, we were told "it got stuck in their system". I have been given incorrect pricing quotes more than twice now. H and R does NOT charge what they tell you up front. They change their story once you bring your paperwork in and start the process. I do not recommend their service. Also, knowledge base varies greatly between staff.
First after telling me it was only gonna be about 60 bucks they charged me 250 then missed out on about five dollars in deductions that I should’ve got. Messed up on my emerald card then recently promised that today I would get the stimulus check deposited on my Emerald card four different H&R block people promised me it would be it wasn’t.
