This year I had asked my mother to go to my accountant to get her taxes one because it doesn't seem like her taxes were done properly by H&R block. Well my accountant had asked my mom to to H&R block to ask for the depreciation schedule because it wasn't woth the printed tax form from last year. Also, to asked them further information on the tax form they have filed because it doesn't explain what it was. Guy was very rude, wanted me to leave because there was another person came. I was there first, was just trying to understand form about some winning.
WAY Over priced.. and I have had a few that are darn right mean, one lost all my documents that included financials. I went in this year 2020 for the 2019 taxes and only until they were finished did they inform me that there was a recent price increase. So I will be paying $730 (a few hundred) more than last year! They are taking "advantage" with the recent dip in the market with this carona virus scare.
h&r block is a horrible company to do business with, i had my taxes filed thru them i got and emerald advance and was asked if I wanted my line of credit to continue throughout the year which agreed. Little did I know the company that they use is a fraud the $500 that I asked to be put toward my line of credit still is not on my account till this day. Now, to remind you that the 500.00 is my money ,I've been calling them since Feb 2020, and have gotten nothing but the run around and lies. The reps form H&R block have no idea... read more
Way overpriced for service that comes from someone who is not even an accountant.
I had a very horrible experience with a H&R Block Tax Rep at the Pittsburgh location: *** * ********* *** *********** ** *****. I'm new at filing taxes and I disclosed that, so I told them I had a few questions. I was giving a short backstory on a recent notice I got in the mail from the IRS and what specific question I had. We were working for over an hour entering all our information on the H and R Block web portal on the premise it was a free service. All the time the page displayed the big header "my Free taxes.." , only to want to charge me at the and 69.99 with a $35 discount, total $34.99. This is deception. They are expecting that people at the end, after doing all the work, will pay the amount since they are getting a return.
This company can't be trusted. To begin with last year's tax filing for 2018 with H & R Block was a total nightmare. If you are earning less than enough to provide for yourself and are struggling to make ends meet, Do NOT go to H & R Block! They advertise percentages off for first time customers and will still rip you off. Incompetent, rude, and unprofessional. Have used H&R for 6 years and have always loved their service until my husband and I moved and used the Mukwonago, WI location. We decided not to return last year after overhearing unprofessional and frankly racist remarks by an employee while we waited for our tax preparer. We sat in disbelief as she mumbled about the lack of cleanliness and odor of "Mexicans" after a Hispanic couple had left as she sprayed her entire cubicle down with cleaner.
