Not too authentic Japanese style room. Was hoping for tatami style (seen in some pics) but apparently whole hotel no longer has those type of rooms. Room and bathroom need renovation. Bathroom is using traditional Japanese style with tub and shower all enclosed in the same room but the look and feel did not provide the effect. Rather it gives out the claustrophobic feel so I didn't take a bath nor a shower on my 1 night stay there. Elevator needs to be replaced, felt like it's going to go out of order anytime soon. The best fitness center I've been in when staying in a hotel. The staff is very friendly and professional.
The staff is so phenomenal. When we arrived, our room wasn't quite ready, so they held our bags free of charge. We went sight seeing and when we came back our jackets were hung up in the closet and our luggage was neatly set up in our room. The view was the cherry on top of our experience (room 310). oh & also, be prepared to receive a free drink voucher for the awesome bar adjacent to the entrance. Our favorite San Francisco boutique hotel! Beautiful views, quietly elegant decor, Wonderful staff. Also near boutique shops, Dosa restaurant & a cinema! We stayed in the same room every year.
