I had the open faced fried chicken with sausage gravy, and it truly was the most amazing fried chicken I've ever eaten. I'm from Louisiana, so those are big words from me! Not only was the food good and fresh, but the atmosphere is extremely friendly and open. You aren't just another customer here. They actually talk to you. This is definitely my favorite food place in Asheville!

Farm to table, can't beat it. Delicious food, warm and friendly atmosphere, vegan and vegetarian friendly.
I have to say the fried chicken was excellent and I have it every time I go there I can't judge the rest cuz I haven't tried any thing else! I keep saying I'm gonna but I get there and I order the buttermilk fried, creature of habit I guess, so delish!
While on a quest for brunch Sunday in Asheville and on my daughter's recommendation, we stopped in the very quaint and hip Homegrown eatery. Quickly, French Toast caught my attention as did the Fried Chicken on a biscuit with gravy, I was meaningfully convinced, by a very believable staff member, that I wanted the Fried Chicken, took her up on it! WOW, what a treat with a side of cheesy grits!! Can't wait to return and won't wait long! Fantastic service, excellent food.
Redneck Cuban is one of my favs, chicken and greens are great as well. Sweet staff ;)
