The Hippodrome Theatre is the centerpiece of theFrance-Merrick Performing Arts Center, holding all of the center's shows. Located just three blocks away from the University of Maryland, this performing arts theater is a true gem of the city. This Vaudeville theater was built in 1914 and designed by Thomas White Lamb, one of the most prominent theater architects of his time. Over the years the theater went through various transformations, from a movie theater to a performing arts venue that it is today.

Hippodrome Theatre is a beautiful venue with great staff who are friendly, kind, and helpful. We always enjoy the shows at this venue. Parking for events at the attached garage at 5 N Paca Street is only $10, which is a great deal for downtown Baltimore.
A great American theatre 🎭which is so much better than the Morris Mechanic
Loved Finding Neverland. We have been subscribers for many years and usually have wonderful experiences, however, we switched our night for this show and sat next to a teenager who was more interested in his Cell phone. Usually there is a statement at the start of the show to turn off all cell phones, but not at this show. Big mistake!
Beautiful theater, friendly staff, and the show was magical!
This was My first time at The Hippodrome to see Finding Neverland, I really enjoyed the Show, the Actors were awesome, The Music and Singing were exceptional. Looking forward to more trips to this Beautiful Theatre 😉
