The Hippodrome Theatre is the centerpiece of theFrance-Merrick Performing Arts Center, holding all of the center's shows. Located just three blocks away from the University of Maryland, this performing arts theater is a true gem of the city. This Vaudeville theater was built in 1914 and designed by Thomas White Lamb, one of the most prominent theater architects of his time. Over the years the theater went through various transformations, from a movie theater to a performing arts venue that it is today.

I love going to shows at the Hippodrome Theatre!! I just saw Finding Neverland last night with my daughter and grandchildren. All four of us had the best time and we loved the show! Can't wait to see more shows there to add to the long list we've already seen.
It was such an amazing show. Standing ovation. The hippodrome was well organized and everything went on without problems. Want to go back again.
