The Hippodrome Theatre is the centerpiece of theFrance-Merrick Performing Arts Center, holding all of the center's shows. Located just three blocks away from the University of Maryland, this performing arts theater is a true gem of the city. This Vaudeville theater was built in 1914 and designed by Thomas White Lamb, one of the most prominent theater architects of his time. Over the years the theater went through various transformations, from a movie theater to a performing arts venue that it is today.

Beautiful place i totally love it
Amazing theatre. Great shows. Professional friendly staff. Easy parking. Who needs to go NY with the Hippodrome right here?
This is a great venue for seeing live performances. I saw Trevor Noah perform here.
I saw the lion king last year with friends and we had a great time. When I saw Anastasia was coming this year, we were very excited, until I went on at exactly 10am and saw that practically all the seats were gone. All that is left are limited view seats. The theatre really should have saved seats for the general onsale today which was today at 10am. And not given all the seats to the subscribers. I an not a subscriber nor do I want to be. I wanted to see one show and now we will not be able to. Poor planning
My children and I visited the theater last December to see The Lion King. We had a fantastic time. Staff was so kind and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Seats are small, no leg room, and 2 elevators to take the thousands of people back to their cars.
Please stop selling and allowing people to bring boxes of popcorn, bags of snacks, etc. into the theater!! This is not a movie theater or the circus. Due to the noise and crunching behind us at today's performance of An American in Paris, our experience was totally ruined...we couldn't hear half of the dialogue. Some people just don't have theater etiquette. We paid good $$ for our seats. Get it together Hippodrome!
I Loved the Motown Show.. The singers and the dancers was Awesome.. I took my parents with me and they said they Loved the show also.. It's a must see especially if you love Motown music
