Happy at the beach.
This was my first time staying at this hotel. It was unfortunate that my first impression was a lingering and unpleasant odor as I entered the building. It appeared the building had several leaks and the ceilings were cracked; I suspect the smell was old mildew? They had several fans going all over the hotel. Just left today, I lv the location, view and especially the staff. We’ve stayed 19 straight years at this resort. I do wish they would renovate the rooms entirely, they are so outdated and worn out. My fear is the newer resorts will swallow up all there disgruntled guests eventually, I want to always stay here but it’s getting more run down every year.
Very nice, oven front balconies, relaxing spa
Ceiling in room is coming apart. Room stunk upon arrival. Hot tub is located next to bathrooms which is strange and unappealing. Lady at coffee shop extremely rude to customers. Beach area great. Valet prompt. Food mediocre.
Really disappointed with how Marriott hotels dealt with a situation that took place at this resort. Beware of the self parking lot! We damaged our car and we were not alone! Many guests have damaged their cars over the years (saw another car in the lot with the same damage and she experienced it years ago in the same spot!) and Marriott will not repair the lot. Marriott insurance did not take responsibility (disappointed, but I understand) and will not issue our reward points back for any part of our stay. This is most disap... read more
The hotel is very nice and located directly on the beach. The pool area has a bar which was great and there was even a deep pool, which you don't see much anymore. We stayed last minute, so I didn't get to enjoy all of the amenities the hotel has to offer, but nothing better than the water. There was a mishap, but they were very accommodating to have it corrected to the best of their ability. I highly recommend if you come to Hilton Head, it is off from the main part, so its mostly fellow hotel guests.
The view from our Ocean Front room was breathtaking and mesmerizing. Room service was way behind when we arrived and didn’t have the bottle of champagne in our room as I ordered. However, Megan at the front desk followed through and made sure we received it. They “comped” us for the inconvenience without even asking. The hotel rooms are clean and well kept but showing their age.
