Had a reservation. Waited 20 minutes online then was told there were no cars available unlessI wanted to upgrade for$10more per day Then was told I had to wait up to 30 more minutes for my car. Hertz is not supporting customers
We returned a car at Hertz DCA and was offered complimentary ride in the car to our terminal since we had a number of bags. The agent never gave us a receipt at the rental location but promised to email it. It never happened. We phoned agent desk while we were still at the airport a number of times and no one picked up - we went into horrible vmail loop and left message. Doubtful anyone checks that's vmail box. I've reached out to Hertz corporate and have yet to receive a response
Reserved a car online to exchange for a car I was renting on a multimonth contract, which needed service. Went to pick up car - the airport was a 30 minute drive from where I was staying - was told that the car I had reserved, a small suv, was not available and to 'try back later'. They rarely answer the phone, and don't return messages, so I'm supposed to make another hour long round trip drive to find out whether or not they have a car that the Hertz website says they have? No customer service mindset whatsoever.
Worse rental customer service experience ever. Made reservation for a rental for weeks. Initial quote I was given was $300 and when I went there to pick up the vehicle, I was told there was additional fee charges for underage and airport. Tried to cancel the reservation but wouldn't allow me to cancel. My total went from $300 to $680 and I ended up getting the rental. Paid for an economy rental car on Expedia for $259.00. After arriving at SEATAC, we checked in at Hertz using a kiosk where we spoke through a video to a man in another room. When choosing the car, he showed me a Chevy sedan, and said "is this car okay?" I said, "yes, that's fine." Then he told me there would be a $200.00 hold on our credit card until the car is returned. I kept my rental car for an extra day. My rate was $42 per day, but Hertz charged me $450 for the additional day. In order to do so, when customers returned their cars, Hertz did not allow them to finish the checking in and get a receipt in person. Instead, they let all of the customers to leave their car keys on the dash and leave, saying that they are short in staff and will email a copy of our receipts to us. Worst experience ever. Agreed to pay $20 more for an updated vehicle from $180 to $200. I ended up paying $380 for car rental for within 5 days!!! I had already paid $180 through priceline for the rental. No help from priceline and the Hertz customer service was just as bad. I will never use HERTZ again!!!
The worst experience I have ever had renting a car starting with Day1. When I got in the car it was dark in the garage & didn't notice the grotesque condition of the front seats. It looked as if a person or animal was incontinent of piss & shit with the gross stains which I didn't notice until I got out of the car in the light.
