On February 8, 2026, I rented a vehicle from Hertz at Orlando International Airport . The Hertz agent falsely told me that LIS (Loss/Damage Insurance) was required by Florida law and mandatory for the rental. This is categorically false - LIS is optional, as clearly stated on my own rental agreement under "Additional Products." I was fraudulently coerced into purchasing LIS. I spent an hour to choose a car, although I had a reservation. The first one was all scratched, the second one did not match the selected category. The third one was slightly scratched, because I realized that all their cars have defects, and I agreed. Then, when I drove out into the light, I saw a small spot on the windshield and now they are billing me to pay for this small spot, which was before my rental, $ 502. Negative first - kiosks at MCO have been removed. After a few long flights, and pressed for time. The last thiing that I want to do is wait on long time consuming lines, in 85degree weather. I thought that I would be slightly ahead by making my reservation online. (Not the case). Inside the airport: signs directing Peoples With reservación To fo To the parking lot For Car Pick up. The counter reps were incredible! Their patients while trying to work through issues was commendable.
It took forever to get out of the parking deck after getting the car because of the long line. Hertz failed to have employees with handheld devices going from car to car to check out their customers. I would never use Hertz at the Orlando airport again.
Good experience
The team was very helpful, I arrived at the wrong terminal side and they quickly change my reservation around to get me on my way quickly.
The best all around rental experience in recent memory.
