when you are using your phone for gps then the cigarette lighter should work so you can plug in when your battery is low. The lighter did not work in my vehicle and it was frustrating since I needed to charge a low battery. Had to stop somewhere to charge just so I could get back to my hotel. Very disappointed and suggest this feature be checked in every car you rent out.
